Outreach and Other Activities

The research program of the Division of Health Economics is complemented by dissemination of new insights gained as well as debate about key concepts and scientific principles related to the economic evaluation of health care in general, and cancer care in particular.

With this in mind, the Division is committed to engage in education, training, and communication of health economic research findings, with special emphasis on their relevance for cancer care and its economic evaluation. Target audiences include the cancer research community, scholars of health economics with an interest in the field, as well as students and junior scientists. The Division is also committed to including in the discussions non-academic stakeholders, such as health care policy makers (stakeholders including politicians and members of payer organizations), members of regulatory bodies, representatives of the biopharmaceutical industries, and the scientific health economics community, as well as patient advocacy groups with an interest in the field.
